Feb 12, 2013  The Spirit Select bed has a revolutionary new bed monitoring system called 'Watchdog' that notifies staff of critical bed status changes with lighted notification. We purchased a fleet of Spirit series CHG hospital beds recently. A common problem we find with these news beds, The bed will no longer lower when it should. Spirit Select was designed to make the lives of patients and healthcare workers safer and easier. This revolutionary hospital bed addresses the needs of a wide range of hospital settings including regular patient rooms in med-surg. Spirit Select is loaded with regular hospital bed features, and it has the ability to go lower to the ground than any other hospital bed on the market. All patients have varying needs that change constantly. Shorter, frail, elderly, and post-surgery patients benefit from the safety of a bed that goes 10' low. Spirit Select is the ideal hospital bed for pediatric patients. Traditional hospital beds can be very high, even at their lowest height, and a high and unfamiliar hospital bed can create an uncomfortable sleeping environment for children, causing restlessness and sleeplessness, which can lead to falls. Spirit Select is the only hospital bed that has an ultra low height of 10-inches from the floor. To help ease the transition between home and hospital environments, Spirit Select’s low bed height helps children to feel more secure so they can sleep comfortably. Specifically for mental health care, Spirit Select beds are available with a “Mental Health Package” that includes these additional safety features: permanently mounted headboard/footboard, restraint loops along both sides of the mattress deck, tamper-proof actuator cover, mattress deck permanently bolted to bed frame, removable brake pedal, adjustable power cord length and tamper-proof fasteners used throughout the bed.
