Underneath the fourth-generation Altima sat an all-new platform, designed to give the car better handling and ride, and make it more spacious than its predecessor. The engines were lifted from the previous-generation Altima, albeit revised for greater performance and efficiency. The engine range comprised a 2.5-liter inline four-cylinder gasoline engine and 3.5-liter V6 gasoline. Both drove through a six-speed manual gearbox, with a con tenuously variable transmission available as an option. Inside, the Altima had Bluetooth preparation as well as keyless start. The car was facelifted in 2010, and received ESP as standard on all models.
